Yet another pop star admits to chronic drug use promising to mend her ways and be a better example to her fans. Lady Gaga recently jumped on the ‘I admit it, and won’t do it again’ bandwagon after years of drug use. Various news reports revealed her addiction to marijuana encompassed smoking 15 to 20 joints a day as well as using other “various things.”
People magazine reported Gaga stating, “I do put that pressure on myself; I have to be high to be creative. I need that, that’s an error in my life that happened for over 10 years. Can I be brilliant without it? I know that I can be and I have to be because I want to live, and I want my fans to want to live.”
A noble resolution and one she will, hopefully, be able to commit to. Lady Gaga also resolves to “fight” her addiction and create music sans mind-altering drugs. However, for someone who has never shied away from the spotlight about her personal life (drug and alcohol use), mention of entering rehab for her addictions has been nothing more than gossip column speculation.
